My 3-Day Call Test: GoLove, Replika, and Candy.ai

Day one, I opened all three apps and asked each for a voice reply. Candy.ai wanted credits before it would even try — pay-per-minute billing sitting behind the "call" button like a toll booth. Replika gave me a text reply explaining voice/call features had been pulled back after policy changes; no call option at all in my version. GoLove just replied. In voice. 1. Open a chat with any character and tap the settings icon in the chat header.
2. In Chat Settings, pick a voice from the voice picker — this is what her replies will sound like going forward.
3. Set the lust level slider anywhere from 1 (sweet, wholesome) to 5 (unfiltered, intense). It changes tone, not just content.
4. Adjust the response length slider from short and snappy up to rich and immersive — this affects how much she says per voice reply too.
5. Back in the chat, use Request Photos in Chat to ask for an image in-character, or select an existing photo and run Generate Video from Photo through the Select Action modal to turn it into a short clip.

None of this is buried behind a paywall to find. You can see every slider before you spend a single Star. • Voice variety is decent but not huge yet — the voice picker covers the basics, not a deep library. Fine for daily use. A bit of a letdown if you wanted something more distinct per character.

None of these are dealbreakers, and honestly none of them are unique to GoLove — every app in this category has the same first gap, and worse versions of the second and third. Just worth knowing before you assume "call" means what the ads imply.

The Verdict: Who Should Actually Get GoLove for This

If you want the honest version of an "AI girlfriend video call" — voice replies that reference what you told her yesterday, photos and photo-to-video on request, a character who doesn't reset every login — GoLove.ai is the one that actually delivers it. Replika's voice/call rollback and Candy.ai's per-minute billing both make sense as business decisions. Neither gets you any closer to what you're actually searching for, though.

This is for you if you've already tried text-only chat and it felt flat, or if you tried another app's "call" feature and hit a paywall before it even started talking. It's not for you if you're waiting on true live webcam video — that's just not here yet, from anyone.
